Pivot Table - I can't delete unused values in selection drop-downs

I have a pivot table by that I update every month, by refreshing the query to
append the new data. It has data by customer and period, type of work, etc.,
with values for Parts, Labor, Tax, etc.

I was asked to strip out data to leave only information to send to a single
customer. I have removed all data from the source range except for that
belonging to that customer, but in the pivot table selection box for
customer, all of the other customers' names still appear. I have already
resaved the entire pivot table and reopened it, with the "refresh on open"
parameter checked, but they do not disappear. How do I get unused values to
drop from the list?

Pivot Table - I can't delete unused values in selection drop-d

Jim,

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I just tried the manual delete on
your URL, and it worked on the old junk for stuff that was in the Row area,
but not on the ones in the Column area, dunno why (I did them each
separately, with a refresh). However, I then added in your macro and ran it,
and it cleaned up ALL the old, in both worksheets.

So I'm a bit curious if you have any feedback about why the manual method
didn't work for the Columns. The only distinction I can see is that I have
multiple Rows, but only a single Column (to select from, with multiple column
output). Just trying to understand what's going on here, for the next time...

In any case, you solved my problem, thank you so much! Linda
