Hi,
I am very new to Programming, I need assistance. Well, I have three columns in sheet one, [ date, name of MFR, no of documents], second sheet [has date, Name of MFR, No.of documents, and many more columns] but, my query is, every day, some Manufactures documents are downloaded, may be some 20 or 30 mfrs per day, those numbers need to be updated in sheet two every day, sheet two will have list of THOUSAND Manufactures ]...how do i go ahead updating it every day, can i automate it by using a macro or should i use ACCESS simple database, where i enter the value in sheet one every day, and it updates automatically based on date field. please advise. thanks, Nanda |
please help
I need some additional information. the task can be easily done in excel
1) Are the manufactureres always the same or are there going to be new manufactures as well as old manufactures. Can the new manufacturers be put at the end of the list? 2) Is the process just looking up the manufacturers from sheet one in sheet two and replacing the date and number of documents in sheet two? Or are new rows added with the data from sheet 1. What happens with the data in the other columns in Sheet 2? 3) Are the sheet names "Sheet1" and "Sheet2"? 4) Can you list the column Letters in sheet 1 and sheet 2 of the date, Manufacturer, and Number of documents?
