Default Multi-Format IF Statement

I have multiple IF statement connected with the + sign in which the results
are either a number or a statement. An example of a statement with a text
string would be:
+IF(A36="na","not incl",0). When I try running the statement, it will not
show the text string. My first thought was that I couldn't mix number results
with text results. Is there a solution? Any help would be appreciated. Thank
You, JAD
