text data in pivot table reports
I only have text data in my excel spreadsheet. I have a small group of
managers and each is assigned to several employees. The employee information contains last name, first name, address, telephone. When i create a pivot table and use the manager as a column heading and the last name as data i only get count totals and not the employee name. How do i get the employee names to appear as data?? |
text data in pivot table reports
Hi Brad
You can't have Text appearing in the Data area of a PT. Drag Manager to the Row Area Drag Lastname to the Row area Drag Lastname to the Data area as well You will see a list of Managers, with a list of subordinates offset in the next column. If required, hide the column which shows all of the "1"'s -- Regards Roger Govier "Brad" wrote in message ... I only have text data in my excel spreadsheet.
