Pivot table reports-summary
 

I want to summarize data in one column into 3 different catagories. How can i
do this?

example: A N A A A A D D

what are the total number of A's, total number of N's and Total number of
D's?

A
N
A
A

D
D

Use header as both a row field and a data field.

Produced:

Count of Header1
Header1 Total
A 5
D 2
N 1
Grand Total 8
