I have no answer, only one question and an observation:
Question - are you still able to open it and is the data still as it should be? Observation: I am often required to provide copies of Excel files on CD as part of business documentation. I've never gotten that message when opening the files from CD to verify that the CD is readable. Using Windows XP Pro/SP2, Office/Excel 2003 with all patches applied and NERO Burning ROM as the burning tool along with Memorx CDs. Additional observation: Obviously you cannot write back to the CD (unless you happen to be using special software like Nero inCD along with rewritable CDs). If you actually want to work with the file, you do need to save it from CD to HDD first.
