Unable to set the Display Alerts property of the application class

I have an Excel spreadsheet accessed via a company intranet. I am
experiencing the above error when tying to turn off display alerts via
VBA. Can anyone help?

Yes. The code works fine when run as a WB in Excel. I need to get it
working when called via hyperlink in IE6 so companywide staff can use
it.

Well that's probably your problem then.

In the words of Dave Peterson:
"This may not be a good solution for you...

I'd do my best to not let MSIE open the file:

How to Configure Internet Explorer to Open Office
Documents in the Appropriate Office Program Instead of in Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=162059

There are just too many things that don't work when an excel file is opened
in a browser."
