matching macro - very compicated....please see eact details inside
Hi everyone
I wondered if someone could assist me with this problem..... I have a spreadsheet which contains all the transaction from our banking system. We have three banking systems..... Lets say COUTTSBANK1, LLOYDSBANK2 and HSBC3. All the transactions are listed from each system one after the other, the details span across 10 columns. Whatever transaction is in COUTTSBANK1 must be in LLOYDSBANK2 and HSBC3. In column A it contains the names of the banks. I then need to check columns C, D, E, G and Q match for the rows in order for them to all be entered correctly in each of the systems. (I'd like to be able to configure the columns it requires to match). I was able to get a macro to check all the columns but I couldnt sort of how to say that there must be one entry from COUTTSBANK1 and the other two banks. The macro would say there is 3 entries but those 3 entries could have gone through the COUTTSBANK1 only but would not be flagged to me because I should see 3 of everything and I did.....if this makes sense, I really hope someone could maybe look into this for me, I realy would be ever so grateful....hours of reading visual basic books has not helped for this sort of problem....I think its more a way of thinking to be able to write these complicated macros, Thanks so much, Andrea |
