How to limit user's input with data validation

I use a data validation to limit input, but other data can also be typed in the cell, what can I do to not allow user to input other data? Clara -- thank you so much for your help |

Are you using a named list on a worksheet?
Make sure that Data|Validation|Settings tab|Ignore blank is not checked. If you included blanks at the end of the list to make it easier to update, maybe using a dynamic range would be better. But other data can also typed in A1 that is not what I want it. Clara -- thank you so much for your help "Dave Peterson" wrote: Are you using a named list on a worksheet? Why do you have the blank line in that range named Fruits? Can't you just name
the range with the 3 non-blank items? Or make sure that option is unchecked. clara wrote: Hi there, I have a named list called Fruits and have four itmes: blank line, apple, orange, grape.
