MS Query From Excel to Access

Hello-
Is it possible to query from Excel an Access database saved on the server
without having the Access application installed on the local PCs?
Thank you.

hi,
yes. just list the access database on the server as a data source. be sure
to resolve any permission issues if needed.

I think he means you select DataImport External DataNew Database
Query (in Excel 2003) and select your Access database.

Thanks, JP
I think, in the meanwhile, I've discovered that the userID also needed full
access to the shared MSA dbase on the server (I'm sure other variations of
security will do the trick, unfortunately don't have enough time to fiddle
them).
Cheers
