Check Box or Button Help
I have a scoring grid that scores upto 4 skill sets per question. Right now
I am using a COUNTIF equation on the side to count if the scorer type in the code for the particular skill. I would like to simplify this by scoring the skill if a check box is checked for the particular skill on that questions. Then I would like to total each skill at the end for a total score for each skill. Thanks for any help anyone can provide. |

I don't even think you need programming for this. Using View | Toolbars,
bring up the Forms toolbar. It has a checkbox that can be linked to a specific cell. When it is checked the value in the linked cell will be TRUE and it will be FALSE when it is not checked. The cell each is linked to can be anywhere in the workbook, even another sheet. You set the linked cell by right-clicking on the checkbox and choosing [Format Control...] and then use the [Control] tab on the dialog that appears to set it. You can then set up a formula next to your questions that uses COUNTIF() to count the number of cells related to that question's checkboxes for a TRUE condition. Lets say your questions are on Sheet1 starting in row 2 and you set the related cells for each of the 4 checkboxes per row on Sheet3 starting in column A and also on row 2 for easy correlation. Your formula back on Sheet1, using row 2 questions as an example, would be: =COUNTIF('Sheet3'!A2:D2,TRUE) "Snipeston" wrote: I have a scoring grid that scores upto 4 skill sets per question.
