Need InputBox Help
 

Is it possible to pass data from an inputbox to a whole seperate excel file?

I have a spreadsheet that has a lookup on one of the worksheets. When you
enter an ID number the worksheet in populated with data from other
worksheets that relate to that ID number.

I need to be able to pull the same data that gets populated on that
worksheet, to a different worksheet in a separate file. Can this be done
with an inputBox that will pass a given ID number to the correct cell on the
original spreadsheet to envoke the lookup and populate the cells? Then my
thought is to have the new sheet linked to the original to pull the data
over to it. So it's like a mirror copy of the original.

The basic reason for this is to give some users access to some of the data
this spreadsheet contains, with out allowing them to actually open up this
particular file, as they are not allowed to see the entire contents.

How can I do this and what would the code be? (I'm not a coder,
unfortunatly)
