Strange Compile Error...
I'm working on a complex UserForm that fetches data from an mdb file and I
went to test it on my bosses (!) machine and Excel gave this error: "Compile error in hidden (something) ThisWorkBook" - So I go into the VB Editor and rerun the module "WorkBook_Open()" and Excel is complaining about the Chr() function... only this time it says "Compiler error: can not find project or library" - So I'm thinking it's a reference library issue, but why would it get hung up on the Chr() function? ... thanks for any help! |
Strange Compile Error...
Your issue has nothing to do with the Chr function. Your first instinct was
correct in that it is probably a missing reference. In the VBE open Tools - References and look for an item marked "Missing:". Probably Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.x (guessing but 2.8 is my guess). You can either change your code to late binding or you can change the reference to a earlier version like Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5... -- HTH...
