Problem - In opening Excel file through shortcut

Hai Friends

I have a problem in opening Excel files through shortcut. In order to
open i should open it through open - Standard tool bar in excel work
book.I had managed with this for last three days. But this has
agravating when i want to link values from one excel file to another
excel file as it is not recognising the another opend file. Even
inorder to move whole work sheet - after right click at sheet name -
sub menu - Move or copy( sub menu) fails to show already opened book
in to book tab.

Please help ..

Problem - In opening Excel file through shortcut

Hi Hari

The behaviour you described occurs when you are trying to copy a sheet
from one instance of Excel to another.

I.e. it sounds as if the file you are working might load itself in a
new instance of excel hence you cannot see your already opened files
when you are trying to copy a sheet.

Proposed solution is to use hyperlinks to navigate between workbooks/
worksheets.

For copy sheet operations, maybe you can modify the workbook open
macro so that it doesn't open itself in a new instance of Excel,
assuming that the issue is the aforementioned on.

For manual copy sheet operations ensure that you open your files
within the same instance of Excel.
