How do I stop a macro from running in Excel 2007?

In Excel 2003, if I don't want the macros to run when I open the Excel
document that contain the macros, I hold down Shift while opening the the
Excel document. In Excel 2007, the Shift key doesn't work any more. How do I
stop a macro from running in Excel 2007?
