I am trying to manualy simulate a DataListValidation and TextValidation Error
so that some code I am running in VBA will extract the error type. I was assuming that a DataListValidaiton Error was a list which has had its underlying data changed without the datavalidation box being updated with a click of its button. However when I purposely try to manually similate this I do not get the little green triangle. I have also tried copying numbers from a text file into the sheet to simulate the Number as Text Error but again cannot get the little green triangle. All options are clicked under Tool/Options/Error Checking. What do I need to manually do in my spreadsheet to get green triangles for these two errors? Thanks EM |

See "About triangle indicators in cells" in Excel help.
