Fields show in one column problem
Hi All:
I am using Windows XP sp2, Excel 2003. In the control panel, when I clicked on the "Regional and Language Options" to "English(Canada)" my four columns are shown as four individual columns "A,B,C,D". However, when I changed my "REgional and Language Options" to "French(Canada), the five columns's data are shown as one column with "," separators. Does anybody know why this happens? Any hint would be greatly appreciated. Yours, Frustrated. |
Fields show in one column problem
In English the 'list seperator' is a comma, in french is is a
simecolon. Excel uses this character to determine where to begin a new column. When in regional settings choose 'customize' and look on the tab 'numbers' The second option from below determines what character is used to seperate list elements. Regardless of that you can have Excel split the data correctly. Look at the option Data/Text to columns DQ |
