File in use notification
I have a file that several users access and I want to disable the file in use
notification when the file is opened by the second or subsequent users. I can't find the way of doing it though .. any ideas ? |
File in use notification
The only way to avoid the in use message is to open the file read-only,
either manually or with a macro. It is generally thought important for users to be notified that they cannot save changes to the file. -- Jim "Daveh" wrote in message ... |I have a file that several users access and I want to disable the file in use | notification when the file is opened by the second or subsequent users. | | I can't find the way of doing it though .. any ideas ? |

One other option is to make the workbook a shared workbook by going to
Tools-Share Workbook. Then check the "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time" check box. Note that shared workbooks have some limitations. Search the help for "Features unavailable in shared workbook" -- Hope that helps.
