Run time error 1004 - cannot insert object
Hi,
I have an excel file that contains hyperlinks to files. I get the hyperlink address and then embed that file into the excel file. (The files are text files.) All the files and the excel file are on a network drive. When I run the macro from my PC everything works OK. When I try it from a different PC I get the 1004 error on the command that embeds the files: ActiveSheet.OLEObjects.Add(Filename:= _ HyperlinkAddress, _ Link:=False, DisplayAsIcon:=True, IconFileName:="packager.exe", _ IconIndex:=0, IconLabel:="").Select Any reason why it should behave in a different way when you activate the same macro in the same file from a different PC? Thanks, Rakefet |

Depends how you are getting the file name.
If these are hard coded, maybe the drive mapping is different on the other PC ? NickHK "diceman" wrote in message . .. Hi, I have an excel file that contains hyperlinks to files.
