Is there a way to defeat and chastise this behavior? I am from the old
school where when you were done with a line you hit return. However this
makes the focus jump to the next text box below the multiline text box.

Must I change my ways?

While we are are on this return / enter subject ... is there a way to key in
alt or cntrl something something to create a return character into the text
at the location where you key it in?
