Default If statement + date calculation

Hi I am not quiet sure how to write this IF statement. If AC= mon then
add 8 days to ab, but if AC = thur the add 6 days to ab.

One way:

=IF(AC1="mon",AB1+8,IF(AC1="thur",AB1+6,""))
