A Strange Excel Question

I Like Excel and VBA, So I've been saving information and downloads to my
harddrive, in a Folder Tree that keeps getting bigger. of examples
workbooks, addins, My Own Workbooks, Excel Tutorials, Excel Functions,
Macros, Code, IE Favorites, Etc, Etc.

I'm Forever adding new folders and files here and there, sometimes I put
them here, sometimes I put them there. sometimes I save them twice, here and
over there, just in case I cant find them, I've more of a chance to. It
would be nice to find something I'm looking for easily, Instead of looking
here and over there. or maybe somewhere else and its not there either.

Have any of you any thoughts on tree structures for saving excel files and
info to your harddrives, that covers most areas of excel.
Come on you must have, This is not just happening to Me. ............... or
is it.

Any thoughts, Ideas Appreciated.

Thanks in advance

A Strange Excel Question

:D
i don't have internet access @ home, so here @ work everytime i see a
great post, a great idea, or download a sample workbook, i save it,
too...... (web pages i save as MHTL to take up less space). so i know
what you're talking about!!!!
i've just kind of developed my own tree system & add things as i need
to...... & some things are saved in multiple folders, because they
pertain to multiple things (like sorting by color would be under
"search-find" & "format - color" & maybe "if-and-or etc").
so, anyway...........

Excel help
delete-insert
duplicates-filters-sorting
formatting - fonts,colors, etc.
borders only
colors only
conditional
fonts only
help with code (my catch-all for stuff doesn't go anywhere else!)
help with concepts
copy-paste
dates & times
debug-errors
events
find-search
functions
commands to VBA
open-close-exit
if-and-or-for next-case
strings
ideas (games, jokes, interesting stuff)
macro projects - excel
old projects
tests
moving, etc., activate, select
new help files to burn (to take home, then distribute among the
correct folders)
pivot tables
printing
saving
security-users
allow-disallow, enable-disenable
passwords
toolbars
userforms
boxes & controls
formatting
variables
wait-progress
worksheet controls
formatting

as my catch-all folder fills up, i see where i need to make new
folders - like i need one for validation right now. i also have a
separate folder for Word help.
i think the key is that whatever tree system works for YOU, so YOU
know where your stuff is!

A Strange Excel Question

Create a "database" in excel that includes columns like the location, name of
the file, key words

Things that you can examine with excel's capabilties like Find, Sort,
Autofilter
