User dialogue to browse folers

I'm trying to modify a VB6 program (macro) that can run a user dialog, allow
the user to browse the network to find paths, and then, having selected one,
pull the path string back into my macro. I have found documentation on the
Shell function to do this, but it's not a command that's supported with VBA
that I have. Is there a straightforward way to do this in VBA from an Excel
spreadsheet?

Not sure if you are using VB6 or VBa but this works in both:
