You can use a hyperlink:
ThisWorkbook.FollowHyperlink "PathAndFilename.ppt"
or
ThisWorkbook.FollowHyperlink "PathAndFilename.ppt#4"
to jump in at slide # 4.

Less control than Jari method, but depends what you need.
