Serious problem when opening a file
 

Sometimes opening and saving in a different version of excel can help (sometimes
not).

If it is a corrupted workbook, you may want to try openoffice. Lots of people
have said that it's recovered workbooks that excel couldn't.

(http://www.openoffice.org, a 60-65 meg download or a CD)

If the file is really important, there are commercial recovery services. I've
never used it, but you might want to check into:
http://www.officerecovery.com

Any chance you have a hidden worksheet named Misctables?

Since you're working with names, get Jan Karel Pieterse's (with Charles
Williams and Matthew Henson) Name Manager:

You can find it at:
NameManager.Zip from http://www.oaltd.co.uk/mvp

It might make finding/fixing these names easier.

Keep a backup--just like any other file.

I had a lot of HTML_Control names and many others that I have removed.

Workbook seems to be working fine.

So far I am very happy.
