Can't read file

I am running Office 2000 on Windows XP Home. I have severa xls files. All
but one I can open. I was able to pen it yeaterday, updated it and saved it.
Now when I try to open it I get the message "Can't read file".

Does anyone know how I can fix the file and open it.

Thanks

You can check to see if it is disabled by clicking on ExcelHelpAbout
Microsoft ExcelDiabled Items and if it is on the disabled list, click on
enable. However, since it was disabled by the system, there must be
something in the file that is causing a problem, so you should save it to a
floppy and not run it with any other Excel files open until you figure out
what the problem is.

OK, I'm running Excel2003 (v11), so you must have an earlier version. It is
also possible that the file is corrupt.
