Default Find string on a row and sum value from same row....

Hi,

I have a table that looks like:

time Job
1:0 JobA
2:0 JobB
1:0 JobA
1:0 JobC
4:0 JobA

What I would like to do is a macro connected to a button that counts the
time that I have spent on each Job. The values of column 'Job' is from a list
object and the time column is of time type.
Any ideas on how to do this?

Hi Bob,

well I would just like to summerize the value in a cell somewhere in the
sheet...

The idea is:

For each week I have a spreadsheet were I note the time a worked in a
specific project. At the end of the week I would like to run a macro or press
a button and summerize all time spent on each project. This will be input to
my time reporting to my project leader.
Also, the example is a bit simplified The actual table looks more like:
start time stop time time project number type of work comment
08:00 08:30 00:30 7182 Coding
bla bla
08:30 10:30 02:00 1282 Testing
bla bla
10:30 12:00 01:30 7182 Coding
bla bla
14:00 16:00 02:00 7755 Coding
bla bla

The values in 'project number' and 'type of work' is based on a list (scroll
down). What I want is a summary at the end showing something like:

7182 Coding 2:00
1282 Testing 2:00
7755 Coding 2:00

BUT, it would be enough if it look like:
Coding 4:00
Testing 2:00

Did this help?

Create a list of all project ids and Coding and Testing, something like

7182 Coding
7182 Testing
1282 Coding
1282 Testing
7755 Coding
7755 Testing

in separate columns, and in the third column add

=SUMPRODUCT(--(Sheet1!$D$2:$D$200=A1),--(Sheet1!$E$2:$E$200=B1),Sheet1!$C$2:
$C$200)

and copy down.
