Cell wrapping event, does it exist? How can I calculate cell filli
I have a peculiar problem I can not seem to solve anyway I tried.
I need to write the values of 2 fields into an Excel 2003 cell separated by a comma. For example, €œSome text from field1,value of field2€ The value of 2nd field is at the end and absolutely has to be displayed. The value of 1st field can be truncated but the goal is to display as much as possible. The problem is some letters of some fonts can have larger width. For instance, letter W takes up more space than letter i. This makes it difficult to just assume the total length of a cell and do simple truncating. What are my options? Is there a way to intercept some sort of a cell wrapping event? Many thanks in advance, --Mike |

Dear Mike,
I use Excel 2000, but this should still be the same: try Ctrl+1 (Format Cells), click on the Alignment tab - under Text control, check the "Shrink to fit" box. This should automatically adjust the text to fit whatever sized cell you have. Hope this helps. -RS "Mike" wrote: I have a peculiar problem I can not seem to solve anyway I tried. Thank you for taking a look. Unfortunately, I can not change size of fonts.

Dear Mike,
Unfortunately, that's all that I know. However, there probably are other people much more knowledgeable here that might be able to help you. Good luck. "Mike" wrote: Thank you for taking a look.
