Does anyone know if its possible to have a range of cells that you can only
enter a certain text. e.g. cell range is A1:F13, this range you can only
imput an X. If you try to enter anything else like any other other letter or
number it will not allow it.


Any ideas.

This should work with Data Validity (I only have a German version).

under the Data drop down in excel there is a category named
"Validation" you can change the validation rules so that it only exepts
text.
