suming instances in pivot table
 

i have uploaded screen shot of my pivot table at
http://www.sunagusa.com/pivot_exampls.gif
in pivot table in the row area i want to count the occurance of
sales_doc_#.
when you look at my screen shot you will have a better idea on what i
want.

Sara (?),

To count the occurences of each sales_doc_#, simply drag sales_doc_# to the row field area, and then
again to the data area.

I did that in the past, but i want to show unique occurences only. what
you suggested below will not do that.
