time card program

Hi,
I created a time card program and need some advice on how to calc ot...
any HR progammers out there???

If 1.5 is paid for all hours after 8 and all hours after 40 then...
if a person works 9 hours on monday (1 hr ot ( @1.5)) and 8 hours Tues
through Fri, then the
last hour on Friday is their 41 hour. Does that hour ALSO get paid as
ot )? This would
show on his time sheet as 41 hours worked with 2 hours at 1.5. The 9th
hour on Monday
(any hours over 8 in a day) and the 8th hour on Friday (any hour over
40 worked in a week).

thanks,

peter

time card program

Peter,

I am not an HR programmer, but I manage a staff in a Union shop.
Overtime is considered for any hours worked beyond a scheduled shift in
a given day regardless of how many hours are completed for the week.
Somebody working 10 hours today, but only completing 30 hours for the
week, would get 2 hours o/t for the week.

Some shops only pay overtime if total hours logged for the week exceed
40, etc. So, the 2 hours would be regular time for the 30 hour person.
