Office XP, Win XP
I setup a Restore point. I installed Acrobat 6.0 Professional. This caused problems in Excel and Word. When I open Excel I get an error message "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew" When I open Word I get an error message "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec" The Excel and Word VBEs both show "AcrobatPDFMaker (PDFMaker.xla)". I can't access that code because it requires a password. Of course I can find the password but that will let me remove only any code that is there, nothing else. I restored the computer (stand-alone home computer) to before the install. The problems and ".xla" are still there. I uninstalled Acrobat. Problem and .xla still there. I uninstalled/installed Office. Problem and .xla still there. No .xla are listed in Excel VBE Add-ins. How do I get rid of all this, short of a reformat? Thanks for your time. Otto |
