how do I change a web query's field length?

I have got data that requires a field with a length of more than 512
characters.
As part of the Web query's XML I've got the following:

<s:attributeType name="ows_Comment0"
rs:name="Comment" rs:number="5"
<s:datatype dt:type="string" dt:maxLength="512"/

How do I increase the field length?
