Is it possible to print a non-alpha numeric
character in a cell? Like the user defined grahics in the old 8 bit machines. I'm after a up arrow and a down arrow. I assume a .jpg isn't the way to go, or is it? Thanks - Kirk |

Arrows exist in some fonts. Go to InsertSymbol and select something like
Symbol or Wingdings as the font. -- Ian -- "kirkm" wrote in message ... Is it possible to print a non-alpha numeric character in a cell? Like the user defined grahics in the old 8 bit machines. I'm after a up arrow and a down arrow. I assume a .jpg isn't the way to go, or is it? Thanks - Kirk |

Thanks Ian, I found just the thing and by adding a new column just for that I can easily control colours and justicfication. Looks great! It was chars 199 and 200 in Wingdings3. But - what it someone ele doesn't have Wingdings3? I suppose I could check if font exists and take some action... or - can it be embeded like Word does ? Thanks - Kirk |

I don't know if characters can be (or are automatically) embedded, but you
could try using characters from a more common font. I think everyone should have Symbol and Wingdings (they come with Windows, I think) but I'm not sure about Wingdings3. -- Ian -- "kirkm" wrote in message ...
