How many hyperlinks can I have in one workbook?

Chip Pearson pointed out (several years ago) that using
a large number of hyperlinks objects (1000) could corrupt an
Excel workbook. This warning does not apply to Hyperlink formulas.
I have had as many as 40,000 hyperlink formulas in a workbook
without problems.

I believe it is more related to your system capability (i.e. memory) than to
Excel. I cannot find where Excel specifies a limit.
