Default Lost Basic Excel & Word

Had a new D drive installed and now I do not have the basic Excel & Word
programs that where on the system at time of purchase.

Do I need to obtain a new program and install it. There is Windows XP on the
system? Please do advise on what I should purchase for a basic user.

Thanks for any Help
Linda

Most computer manufacturers provide a CD that will restore the computer to
its original state when it was sold. Of course, that would mean loosing any
information you had placed on the computer. However, if you have a D drive,
you can copy that information off the C drive and then reimage your C drive.

If you don't have that, you might contact the company that manufactured the
computer and see if they can help you.

Other than that, you could purchase office 2003 standard edition. Or if you
are a student or educator or if you have dependents that are students, you
could get the cheaper student and teacher edition.

Also note that Office 2007 should be released sometime between October and
early 2007.
