SaveCopyAs - Timed Capture
Is there a way to program a file in excel to use the SaveCopyAs
function at a certain time every day? The filename will remain constant and the older file will be deleted first (Kill). Now an even harder question - can you program excel to do this and save it as a different file everyday? Either one of these solutions would save me much time and labor. Thank you. |
SaveCopyAs - Timed Capture
Excel has to be open to do any of that.
You can use the application.Ontime http://www.cpearson.com/excel/ontime.htm You could put this in a file in the xlstart directory and have windows schedular open that file at a specified time. Put code in the workbook_Open event to run a macro to do your work http://www.cpearson.com/excel/events.htm for an overview of events YOu can use the data in the file name sName = "C:\Myfolder\Myfile" & format(date,"yyyymmdd") & ".xls" activeworkbook.SaveCopyAs sName -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "SmartyPants" wrote: Is there a way to program a file in excel to use the SaveCopyAs function at a certain time every day?
