how to open an existing excel file using macros?
 

i would like to open an excel file from a share drive, the issue is once that
file is moved to a folder i am unable to open it again(i get a runtime
error). i wish to open any excel file present outside the folder.

A lettered drive and a folder are two different concepts. In any event, as
long as you know the location of the file, you should be able to specify that
location and open it.
