Tough Problem
Rather than confuse you with words, I'm going to attempt to show yo what I need to do through pictures. I think this will work a littl better. The workbook I'm using is shown here... http://www.altairav.com/steve/step1.jpg If you're unclear what I'm attempting after looking at this secon picture, please let me know. http://www.altairav.com/steve/step2.jpg The actual sheet I'm working on is a bit bigger, I just wanted t simplify the example. If I can get it to work on this little example I should be able to apply it to what I'm doing. I appreciate any hel someone can give me, even if it's just some direction. Thanks in advance -- smormand ----------------------------------------------------------------------- smormando's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...fo&userid=3729 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=57011 |

Thanks for the reply, Gazeta. I'll give this a shot, but I may be back asking questions. I'm not sure I'm understanding the whole thing. I know I tried the conditional formatting once, but it doesn't seem to work between sheets. It won't change a cell on sheet 2 on a condition from sheet 1. At least it wouldn't when I tried it. -- smormando ------------------------------------------------------------------------ smormando's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=37297 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=570118 |

That worked fantastic! I have one more question, and if this won't wor with some slight variation, I'm not too worried about it. What if ther was another column between the two on sheet 1? Now, when there's change in Column C (instead of B), I want to look for the value o column A in that row on sheet 2. I don't know that this is possibl because it seems you can't create a range of cells in two columns tha aren't next to each other. Thanks again -- smormand ----------------------------------------------------------------------- smormando's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...fo&userid=3729 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=57011 |
