I've got a column of data, A1:A10. In the cells of this column, I'll
either have numbers or the text #N.A. N/Ap.

I'm trying to build a formula that says if the content of the cell is
#N/A N/Ap, then populate 0. But if the content of the cell is a
number, show the number.

What I've done, and which isn't working is: =If(IsNumber(A1), A1, 0).
What am I doing wrong and I'm not an excel pro by any means. Thanks
in advance.

Your formula worked ok for me.

Are you sure you have calculation set to automatic?
tools|options|calculation tab

If that isn't it, you may want to copy the formula directly from excel into your
followup message.

I should also mention that #N/A N.A. is the result of a formula that
pulls from another workbook. Thanks in advance for any help you can
offer.

I copied the formula from your posting and it worked in a cell. If you want
the same functionality in VBA, then you need a different form.

I just retyped the formula and it's now working. Thanks to you both for indicating that what I was doing was correct. I have a feeling I've got some bad typing skills going on this morning.
