Default macro errors

I have a macro that mail merges data out of excel into a word document. The
macro is in excel. I had it running fine until I was trying to add more
codes. I took the codes out and the macro still is not running. I keep
getting Error '429' ActiveX componet can't create object. In References I
have vba, excel, office, word, OLE checked. I decided to try checking 2.0
object library and it ran once, and now it won't let me uncheck it.When I go
back into the word document and try to open the data source "the excel
worksheet" it tells me the data source will not open. So I decided to reboot
and try it over. Before the pc shut down it popped a msg that said, the
excel workbook is now available for editing-it gave me the option to
"read-write" or "cancel". I'm not sure what I should do from here and am not
wanting to screw this up any further...any suggestions?

try to run the macro or fix the references or whatever you think is
appropriate. the message you cite would indicate that office felt the
document was in use by another user ("you" apparently) so it would not allow
you to make changes.

Now that you have rebooted, everything should be available.
