VBA Password problem in excel 97

I have a Vba Project written in excel 2000. the properties are protected
and locked... I works fine in 2000 and later, when you try to enter it
asks for the password... then lets you in upon entry of that password..

but in excel 97 it just says it is locked from viewing.. I have tried
unchecking the locked from viewing box and leaving the password... but
it still gives me the same...

Is the a solution that would make it work as it does in 2000.

Thank you Randy

Ron de Bruin

VBA Password problem in excel 97

Hi Randy

Unlock your VBA in 2000 (uncheck protection in toolsproperties) and save

Open in 97
Protect your VBA in Excel 97 and save

You can now unlock it in every version
