Exporting to Excel
I have a program that exports information to excel. I do not own a
copy of excel I use Open Office. What I need is something, I am not sure what to call it API, ActiveX, maybe a vbs, that will either create the xls file or export it to Open Office. I have no idea what the program is looking for when it tries to export to excel. I know that when you do have excel installed then it will open the program and populate the fields with the export info. Does anyone have any ideas on this one? Maybe if I can get some starting points of what you think the program is looking for when you go to export. Maybe if there is a program like cutepdf that "prints" to an xls file. Thanks |

Well I don't think those will work. I have to trick this exporting
program in to thinking that I have Excel installed so that it will export it's data to either Open Office or an xls file. NickHK wrote: Check out the links on this page. Well, decide what you are doing.
If you want a way to create Excel files without having Excel installed, that page had links. I do not see how you have got this working with Open Office. And if it is working, why change ?
