pick from list

I would like to know how to establish the list that can be picked
from.. If I "right click" on a cell I get the option to "pick from a
list" but nowhere can I find out how to make that list.

This is a worksheet issue not a programming issue. Go to Data ...
validation ... list ... source put in the range that contains the list

Cheers

the list is generated by Excel from contiguous data immediatly preceding that
cell in the same column.

in A1 put in ABC
in A2 put in EFG
select A3, then right click and select pick from list (or pick from dropdown
list).
