References to other workbooks
Hi!
Does anybody know how can I find out all cell references to other workbooks? Every time I am opening the workbook, I am asked, if I want to update the links to other workbooks. Actualy, I don't want any refernces to other workbooks, so I would like to delete all these links! Thanks! |

I use the standard 'Edit, Find' function in Excel:
Under options Find What {name of the workbook} Search within: Workbook Look In: Formulas You can also take the Edit, Links option and then press the Break Links button. This permanently substitutes a value for any formulae with links to external workbooks, so you need to be sure that you no longer need the links before you use this. "Mike" wrote: Hi! When I can't find links, I'll use Bill Manville's FindLink program:

alternatively, under the "Find What" if you enter ".xls" (without the
quotes), this will find links to any other workbooks without you having to enter the workbook name. Hope this helps DS "Quiller38" wrote: I use the standard 'Edit, Find' function in Excel: Under options Find What {name of the workbook} Search within: Workbook Look In: Formulas You can also take the Edit, Links option and then press the Break Links button.
