Default value in empty cell
Hello. I want to create a test environment in excel and I need to have default values in many cells when the user has not written a value in the cell. Is there anyone who know how I can do that? The default value should be picked up from another cell. Thanks /Anders -- a94andwi ------------------------------------------------------------------------ a94andwi's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=21077 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=539247 |

when the user enters a value in the cell, the formula will be overwritten. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "a94andwi" wrote: Hello. Default value in empty cell
Hello Tom. I don't want that to happen. I need a cell value that returns to th default value when you erase your input in the cell. Is this possible? /Ander -- a94andw ----------------------------------------------------------------------- a94andwi's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...fo&userid=2107 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=53924 |
Default value in empty cell
Maybe I need to explain myself a little to make you understand. I have a sheet that contains default value in cell A1. This value is out of my system at work and I am trying to tweak th system and need to try out new values to see what the output will be. In cell B1 I have the "test cell". This is where I do the tweak inpu values. In cell C1 I have calculations that take the new values in B1 and giv me an idea of what my system will create for values when put thes values into the system. I do not want to put the figures into the system before I know that i will not create a disaster. I'm working at an international company an wrong inputs may cause a lot of damage and cost a lot of money. I am trying to see what can happen before I actually do it. This is why I would like the cells B1 to contain the same value as i cell A1 until I write something in cells B1. If the result is not wha I would like it to be I erase the input in cell B1 and it show th default value taken from cell A1. It would be great if this is possible to do to create huge tes environments. /Ander -- a94andw ----------------------------------------------------------------------- a94andwi's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...fo&userid=2107 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=53924 |
