Does this NG emphasize VBA, Macro recording, interactive operation, or all?
Even in cases in which the OP specifies VBA, I see a lot of responses saying "select x-y-z from the menu, highlight A,B,C cells, drag, etc." I'm somewhat reluctant to respond if I don't know what what kind of answer is being sought. DD |

It is predominantly a VBA group, and often it is assumed that the OP wants a
VBA solution, but if we think VBA is overkill, we will offer a non-VBA solution. It is important that posters realise that V BA is often overkill. If they really must have VBA, they can post back and explain why a VBA solution is necessary. -- HTH Bob Phillips (remove nothere from email address if mailing direct) "Dick Dawson" wrote in message ... Broadly speaking, this newsgroup is for VBA questions. However, a
user may not need or necessarily want VBA to accomplish what he desires. In that case, a procedural reply is acceptable. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "Dick Dawson" wrote in message ... In general I try to supply the most correct solution to the problem at hand.
While this site is for VBA, often that is not the best way to go about the problem. In those cases I try to supply the best procedure to follow. The nice thing is that you get answers from people (Like Chip, Bob, Tom, ...) who really know their stuff and can point you in the best direction to follow, whether that be VBA or not... -- HTH...
