Pivot row order query

Hi All, I have a table of data, where column A contains the order and
column B the actual data which should appear in on the row within the
pivot table.

What happens however is that the data in column B is sorted
alphabetically within the pivot and not in the order on the base data.

Can this be sorted using VBA?

Many thanks

If you add the order field as the first row field, the column B items
should sort correctly.

Debra, thanks so much for your reply, but I dont want the first column
(coumn A) to be visible on the pivot table.
If i follow your suggestion I have to have column A visible.

You could create a custom list, and use that as the sort order:

In a cell on a blank worksheet, type your list, then select it
Choose ToolsOptions
Select the Custom Lists tab
Click the Import button, click OK

When you create a new pivot table, items should be in the order of the
custom list.

To sort the items in an existing pivot table, select the field
button, and choose DataSort
Click the Options button, and choose your custom list.
