Help with range
 

I have the following (from record macro) to sort my data;

Range("A1:*Q1740*").Sort Key1:=Range("D1"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:= _
xlGuess, OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom, _
DataOption1:=xlSortNormal

How do I modify the range so it lookk from "A1" to the last cell in
sheet that contains data?

Assuming row 1 and column A contains no emptycells:

dim lastcol as long
dim lastrow as long
lastrow = Range("A1",Cells(Rows.Count,"A")).end(xlup).row
lastcol = Range("A1"),Cells(1,Columns.Count)).End(xltoRignt) .column
Range(cells(1,"A"),cells(lastrow,lastcol).Sort ...........
