I had to order VBAKey software for $45. It worked. Thanks. In case you didn't know, the software doesn't recover the lost password. It replaced the lost password with a new one that has some random alphabets/numbers. The Excel file is then saved as if it were the original file. I guess the XLS file stores the encrypted password at a trackable position in the binary form within its file. VBAKey somehow finds and removes that block of codes...problem solved.
